From Pain to Purpose

Dae'Vion's Place of Resilience Welcomes You

At Dae'Vion's Place of Resilience, our main priority is to create a safe and supportive communities through linkage to mental health treatment, financial literacy and educational gun violence awareness. Our focus is primarily for youth and families who have been affected by gun violence. Our founder, Shanena Lewis lost her 15 year old son Dae'Vion to gun violence. Dae'Vion's Place has made it their mission to create resources and opportunities for those who feel marginalized and unsupported. We understand that the youth are not the problem but the solution.

Why We Give Back

Dae' Vion's Place of Resilience is a non-profit organization founded in October 2022 in memory of Dae' Vion Raines, a beloved 15-year-old who tragically lost his life to gun violence. Our mission is to empower youth to become agents of positive change in their own lives and communities. We firmly believe that young people are not the problem but an integral part of the solution.
At Dae' Vion's Place of Resilience, we are committed to providing resources, support, and opportunities for at-risk youth and families in undeserved communities. Our programs are designed to address the pressing issues of gun violence, mental health, mentorship, leadership development, and entrepreneurship.

Ways We Help

Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to Allegheny County and Pittsburgh communities. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we serve. Learn more about what we do below.
